Europe is the fastest warming continent and there is a clear difference between the wet west and the extremely hot and dry east. This can be concluded from the European State of the Climate 2024, an annual report in which the European climate service Copernicus and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) take stock of climate change in the previous year.
